French Polynesia is...

 

 

A  overseas collectivity  French, located 15,700 kilometers from Paris, whose capital is Papeete.

It consists of five  archipelagos  located in the Pacific Ocean  south :

- the Society Archipelago  with the  Windward Islands  and the  Leeward Islands ,

- the Tuamotu Archipelago ,

- the archipelago of  Gambier ,

- the Austral archipelago  and the  Marquesas Islands .

In total there are 118  islands , but only 67 are inhabited.

On the cultural level, it is a rich and lively destination, on the one hand thanks to its inhabitants and their communicative joy of living and on the other hand in the traditions, the songs, the dances and the many craft products created on these he is. The  French  is the only official language, and it is understood by virtually the entire population. But there are many other regional languages, such as Tahitian.

Polynesia has a tropical climate, so the best time to go there is from April to October, which corresponds to the "cool" season, which avoids the rain and with mild temperatures between 24 and 28°C. .

There are approximately 22 hours to 24 hours of flight with a stopover in the United States ​

The time difference with France is - 12 hours in summer and - 11 hours in winter.

Prefer light and flowery clothes (if you want to be in Polynesian fashion) and your beach items: hat, sarong, beach towel, flip flops, sunglasses, sunscreen...
